Welcome to the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam Resource Site


Effective January 1, 2014 there will be a new format for the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE).  The FE Exam will continue to be developed and administered by NCEES as a national exam recognized by all 50 states within the US.  However, the new exam will be changing to computer-based testing (CBT) and be administered at Pearson VUE testing centers in 175 countries throughout the world.


Changes will take place in each of the following Categories:                                              
  1. Log into NCEES
  2. Select Register button
  3. Register and pay for the exam.
  4. Receive authorization notification from NCEES to schedule an exam.
  5. Schedule the exam
  6. Receive the appointment confirmation letter from Pearson VUE.

  1. The application process requires proof of academic status, a personal photograph, and other documentation which may vary depending on the State you are taking the exam. Start the application process early. The States are very strict with  their deadlines. 
  2. Check the website for the State you are taking the exam for full details on the application process. Deadlines, qualifications, fees, etc. may change without notice.
